ISLAMABAD – In an interview with Capital Talk anchor Hamid Mir, the IranianForeign Ministerhas compared Iran’s relations with India as Pakistan’s relations with SaudiArabia.
He said that as Pakistan Saudi Arabia ties are not against Iran as IranIndia ties are not against Pakistan.
He further stated that security ties with Islamabad are improving and weshall continue to cooperate with Pakistani counterparts to strengthenbilateral relations.
Talking about Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, Zarif said that Tehran hasshared all the information available with Iranian security agencies andassured that “our soil will not be used against Pakistan”.
Zarif expressed disappointment over failure of Pakistan’s efforts to bridgegap between Iran and Saudi Arabia. “We welcomed Nawaz Sharif’s gesture tobring the two Muslim countries closer but Riyadh gave a cold shoulder.”
Iran is willing to join China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and readyto include Beijing in Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline.
Javad Zarif is on three-day visit to Pakistan during which he would heldmeetings with civilian and military leadership.
During the meetings, Iran sent out a strong message to the Pakistanileadership that Iran’s relations with India are not aimed against Pakistan.
Zarif appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for strengthening border management toprevent illegal cross-border activities.
He invited Pakistan and China to invest in the port of Chabaharstrategically situated at the mouth of Straits of Hormuz and said bothcountries will need to cooperate for ending terrorism in the region.
