ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has lodged protest against harassment and intimidationof the officers, staff and the families and children of the Pakistan HighCommission in New Delhi by Indian state agencies in India.

According to Foreign Office Spokesperson the Indian Deputy HighCommissioner J.P. Singh was summoned at FO and a strong protest was lodgedin this context, Radio Pakistan has reported.

Director General (South Asia and SAARC) Dr. Mohammad Faisal emphasized thatunder the Vienna Convention, the safety and the security of Pakistanidiplomats and their families is the responsibility of the Indian government.

He said that all these incidents continue unabated despite repeatedofficial protests lodged with the Indian Ministry of External Affairs atthe highest level.
