Pakistan suffered a humiliating loss to India in the 2023 Asia Cup Super 4 match in Colombo on Monday, with India winning by an enormous 228-run margin. Sunil Gavaskar, in an interview with India Today, didn't hold back in criticizing Pakistan's batting performance.

He remarked that the way Pakistan batted made it seem like India could have defended their total of 266 in the previous match. Gavaskar questioned the depth of Pakistan's batting lineup, apart from Babar, and noted that none of their other players posed a significant threat to the opposition's bowling.

"In cricket, there are no ifs and buts. But the way Pakistan batted today, it seemed India would have been able to defend 266 the other day if the game (1st match) had carried on. You know people, particularly in Pakistan, keep on talking about India having only one or two players. I mean how many players does Pakistan have? Particularly in the batting department. Apart from Babar who do they have?" Sunil Gavaskar questioned.

In response to India's formidable 356-run total, Pakistan could only manage 128 runs in 32 overs, marking India's most significant victory against Pakistan in One Day International (ODI) cricket. This defeat stands as Pakistan's second-worst ODI loss in history, with the previous record being a 234-run loss to Sri Lanka in 2009.

It's important to mention that due to persistent rain and a damaged outfield, the critical match between Pakistan and India in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup was rescheduled from Sunday to Monday.
