Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) proudly announced a significant milestone on Tuesday, revealing the successful testing, completion, and integration of the Nashpa-11 well into the production stream. This achievement, as reported to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), stands as a testament to OGDCL's internal expertise and relentless pursuit of excellence in the oil and gas industry.
The Nashpa-11 well was meticulously drilled to a remarkable depth of 4,485 meters, with the specific aim of tapping into the hydrocarbon potential residing within the Lumshiwal, Hangu, and Lockhart formations.
Remarkably, these formations are presently yielding a substantial output, with 830 barrels per day (BPD) of oil and 1.0 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas flowing through a 32/64" choke at a wellhead flowing pressure (WHFP) of 520 PSI. As of September 11, 2023, the Nashpa-11 well has been seamlessly connected to the OGDCL Nashpa plant via a 1.8-kilometer flow line, allowing for the efficient injection of gas into the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) network.
This successful endeavor underscores a collaborative effort, with OGDCL taking the lead as the operator and holding an impressive 56.45 percent stake. Additionally, this partnership includes esteemed entities such as Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), contributing with a significant 28.55 percent share, and Government Holding Private Limited (GHPL), which holds a notable 15 percent stake. Together, they have demonstrated the power of teamwork and innovation in advancing Pakistan's energy sector.
In conclusion, OGDCL's accomplishment with the Nashpa-11 well serves as a shining example of the energy sector's growth and resilience in Pakistan. This success story, driven by a blend of technical prowess and strategic partnerships, reinforces the nation's position as a player in the global oil and gas industry. The future undoubtedly holds promise for further advancements and contributions to the energy landscape in Pakistan
