ISLAMABAD - Federal government takes unprecedented decision over the powers of the Airports Managers across the country.
The federal government has increased the administrative power of all airports managers across the country. They have been given an additional charge of functional heads of the airports.
A notification was issued in this regard on Wednesday. Under this notification, the manager will oversee all the agencies working at the airports.
According to sources, the decision was in line with the government’s intention to outsource some of the national airports. The move aims to bring all independent agencies such as Airport Security Staff (ASF), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) under one umbrella.
Moreover, all airline heads will be answerable to airport managers.
“The decision is aimed at bringing uniformity in airport operations and providing maximum facilities to the passengers,” one of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said while commenting on the development.
