Shahid Afridi, the former captain of Pakistan, recently disclosed the details of a conversation he had with the current captain, Babar Azam, in anticipation of the crucial 2023 World Cup match against arch-rivals India scheduled for Saturday, October 14th in Ahmedabad.
During a recent interview with a local media channel, Afridi conveyed that he spoke with Azam after the team's recent victory.
He expressed, "Last night, I had a conversation with Babar Azam to congratulate him on the recent win. I encouraged him to have confidence in his abilities as a player who excels in big matches and assured him that he would perform well in the upcoming games."
Afridi acknowledged a recent setback Babar faced in a match but remained optimistic about his potential.
He mentioned, "Despite a bit of bad luck in the last game, I firmly believe that Babar Azam will achieve a century in the significant matches."
It's important to note that the Pakistan team had secured victories in their first two matches of the 2023 World Cup against Netherlands and Sri Lanka.
