Pakistani women entrepreneurs first ever delegation lands in China

ISLAMABAD: (APP) The first ever delegation of women entrepreneurs from Pakistan reached Beijing to promote bilateral ties with China in the fields of business and trade.

The visit has been arranged by Trade Development Authority of Pakistan under the directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for developing business and trade ties with Chinese side in multiple fields, said a press release received here from Beijing.

The Embassy of Pakistan in China Friday hosted the 10-member delegation headed by Secretary TDAP Rabiya Javeri Agha.

The reception hosted in honor of the delegation was also attended by 38 Chinese companies dealing in textile, media, culture, trade and education.

Pakistan's Commercial Counsellor Dr. Erfa Iqbal made the opening remarks in the reception.

In his address, Pakistan's Ambassador Masood Khalid welcomed the delegation and the Chinese guests and said this was the first ever women entrepreneurs delegation on a visit to China in recent years.

The timing was perfect for developing business links as Pakistan and China were celebrating the 65th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, he added.

The ambassador talked about a new era of cooperation between China and Pakistan in the wake of CPEC. The level of bilateral cooperation was poised to reach new heights with such growing interaction, he added.

Ambassador Masood Khalid highlighted the role women were playing in the socio economic uplift of Pakistan.

The delegation members were introduced followed by remarks by the leader of the delegation who thanked the Pakistani Embassy for arranging such a fruitful session.

A business networking session between the Pakistani delegation and Chinese participants was also held.
