ISLAMABAD: Free, fair and peaceful elections in Pakistan are the only way to honor the sacrifices of the Bilour family, tweeted Malala Yousafzai.
Haroon Bilour, an ANP leader and the party’s candidate for Peshawar’s PK-78 seat, was killed late Tuesday night in a suicide blast at his election rally. Haroon was the son of Bashir Ahmed Bilour, a senior ANP figure who was also killed in a suicide blast in Peshawar in 2012.
Malala has often raised her voice for democratic values. In March this year, she returned to Pakistan after six years.
The Taliban shot the 20-year-old Nobel Peace Prize winner in Swat in 2012 for being a vocal supporter of education for girls. APP
