ISLAMABAD:The Islamabad High Court (IHC) deferred hearing on former president Pervaiz Musharraf's plea challenging the special court orders to record his statement abroad through a commission in high treason case.
The junior counsel of former president had requested the court to postpone this day hearing till next week as the senior counsel was busy with the Lahore High Court (LHC). The request was accepted by the bench.
A divisional bench of IHC comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Mohsin Akhter Kiyani resumed hearing on a petition filed by Musharraf challenging the special court orders.
The petition states that order of special court be declared as illegal because it is affecting the legal rights of the petitioner.
It further read that there is no precedent in Pakistan’s history pertaining to similar verdict.
It may be mentioned here that the special court on October 15 ordered that Musharraf’s statement in the high treason case against him be recorded through a commission.
