ISLAMABAD: The Water and Power Development Authority has signed a contract with a Turkish company for rehabilitation of Warsak hydro power station costing 868 million rupees.
The power generation capacity of Warsak hydropower station had decreased to 193 megawatt from 243 megawatt during the last ten years.
Warsak hydropower station was built at river Kabul near Peshawar in 1960 and it was first rehabilitated in 1996.
WAPDA has been vigorously working to generate low-priced power to overcome electricity shortage in the country.
