KABUL – An Afghan National Army helicopter made an emergency landing andcaught fire in a village in Faryab province on Wednesday evening, theprovincial governor Naqibullah Fayiq said.
The incident took place in Sar-e-Hawz village in Pashtun Kot district inFaryab when the helicopter wanted to take off but caught fire due totechnical problems, Fayiq told TOLOnews.
Fayiq said six ANA helicopters were on the way to Pashtun Kot district totransfer residents of Sar-e-Hawz village but one of them made an emergencylanding.
He said no one on board were hurt in this incident.
A source speaking on condition of anonymity told TOLOnews that thehelicopter faced technical issues in an insecure region in the district andit is expected it would be destroyed.
