Lahore: According to sources, former President and Co-Chairman of thePakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Asif Ali Zardari, is scheduled to arrive inLahore on Wednesday with a focus on the party’s activities in Punjab. He isset to participate in the PPP’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting,scheduled for September, in Lahore.
Joining him in this endeavor, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will alsotravel from Multan to Lahore tomorrow. During his stay in Lahore, theformer foreign minister plans to engage with party workers for a durationof four days. It’s worth noting that the PPP has convened a CEC meeting todeliberate on the forthcoming general election date.
This gathering will address the current political climate in the countryand strategize for future political developments, including the party’sstance on general elections. Invitations have been extended to all CECmembers, and the meeting is slated for September 14 at 3 p.m. at BilawalHouse Lahore, where PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto will preside over theproceedings.
Previously, several PPP leaders, including Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, urgedthe Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to promptly announce the electiondate, emphasizing the constitutional requirement of holding electionswithin 90 days.
