TEHRAN – “The US government story is Achilles’ heel in the official versionof” the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States, says Dr.Kevin Barrett, an American academic who has been studying the events of9/11 since late 2003.
Dr. Barrett, a founding member of the Scientific Panel for theInvestigation of 9/11 link, made the remarks in aninterview with Press TV on Tuesday following the release of a comprehensivestudy conducted by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering atthe University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) in association with Architects andEngineers for 9/11 Truth which found that fire was not the cause of thecollapse of the Building 7 of the World Trade Center (WTC).
The US official story established that the 47-story building collapsed onits base after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, at 5:20 p.m., when it wasaffected by the fire coming from the Twin Towers—Buildings 1 and 2 of theWorld Trade Center. The building was completely destroyed in just sevenseconds.
However, after investing four years in computer simulations, the UAFscientists published a draft report that concludes that the collapse of thethird WTC skyscraper on Sept.11, 2001 was not due to any fire, but “thealmost simultaneous failure of every column in the building.”[image: PressTV-WTC Building 7 didn’t collapse due to fire: Study]link
Dr. Barrett said, “A new study from the University of Alaska led by Dr.Leroy Hulsey has determined with total precision that the destruction ofthe World Trade Center Building 7 on September 11, 2001 could not havehappened the way the government tells us which is due to moderate officefire, that’s actually very minor office fire.”
“The US government story is Achilles’ heel in the official version of 9/11which is ridiculous in many, many respects. Every single aspect of theofficial story collapses upon critical examination. The Building 7 is themost obviously false aspect of this,” he stated.

“So the new study takes on the NIST report; the official government bodyhas worked up a bizarre claim that this very modest office fire…has causedthe 47-story building to come down at absolute freefall for two and hand ahalf seconds and then close to freefall for the rest of the way downstraight into its own footprints,” he noted.
The September, 11, 2001 attacks, also known as the 9/11 attacks, were aseries of strikes in the US which killed nearly 3,000 people and causedabout $10 billion worth of property and infrastructure damage.
US officials assert that the attacks were carried out by 19 al-Qaedaterrorists but many experts have raised questions about the officialaccount.
They believe that rogue elements within the US government, such as formerVice President Dick Cheney, orchestrated or at least encouraged the 9/11attacks in order to accelerate the US war machine and advance the Zionistagenda.
