ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan takes unprecedented decision overconstructing sector in Pakistan as he has decided to make the constructionsector an industry in Pakistan with simplified laws and rule for ease ofdoing business.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved in principle declaring constructionsector as an industry. He was chairing a meeting on Ease of Doing Businessin construction sector in Islamabad today.
The Prime Minister said the government is giving special emphasis tosimplify the construction related laws and do away with the condition ofunnecessary approvals and NOCs.
Imran Khan pointed out that the government has already abolished thecondition of seeking approvals from the civil aviation and otherorganizations for construction of multi-story buildings in big cities. Hesaid the establishment of land courts will also go a long way in resolvingland related matters.
Chairman Naya Pakistan Housing Authority Anwar Ali Hyder briefed the PrimeMinister about steps being taken to address policy issues, simplificationof procedures, abolishment of unnecessary approvals, compliance of zoningand development by-laws and other relevant issues.
He presented short, medium and long-term roadmap for improving Ease ofDoing Business in construction sector. He said that latest technology isbeing introduced to ensure transparency and simplify the procedures in theconstruction industry.
The Chairman Naya Pakistan Housing Authority said that in the first phasethe land record will be digitalized in big cities. He said that under thelong term plan, the land record will be digitalized in the entire country.
He said this process will ensure online availability of the land record andaddress most of the land related matters.
The Chairman CDA briefed the Prime Minister about Automated Client ServiceCenter being launched in the federal capital. He said the introduction ofthis service will facilitate the residents of the federal capital regardingmatters pertaining to the CDA and help check corruption and other illegalpractices.
