LONDON – England swing king James Anderson became the first to claim 100Test wickets at Lord’s Cricket Ground on Sunday as his team played a secondinnings against India on the fourth day of the second Test.

Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan is the only other bowler with more than a100 Test wickets to his name at a single venue, and has taken 166 wicketsat SSC, Colombo; 117 at Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy; and 111 at GalleInternational Stadium.

Anderson reached the milestone when he removed India openers Murali Vijayand KL Rahul today on his way to figures of two wickets for eight runs infive overs.

India, who are facing a huge deficit of 272 runs, were 17 for two in theirsecond innings when rain forced an early lunch.
