KARACHI – The political forces in Pakistan have partially completedissuing tickets to the aspiring candidates and as the deadline issued byElection Commission of Pakistan to file nominations papers ended, someblunders were also committed in the process.
Besides Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, PakistanPeoples Party has also announced its candidates for the forthcomingelections but surprisingly, it issued a ticket to one of the dead partyleader.
Jam Bijar Khan Jokhio, who died a year ago, was awarded ticket for PS-79constituency by Pakistan Peoples Party.
The core cause of gross mistake is due to the fact that Owais Jokhio, theson of the deceased politician, had submitted an application to get theparty ticket to contest upcoming General Elections 2018.
However, the party issued the ticket to the leader who is no more alive.
Jam Bijar Khan, chieftain of the Jokhio tribe and a former member of theSindh Assembly had passed away at the age of 85 in his native village, JamGoth on 30 May 2017.
A number of tribal chiefs and politicians from across Sindh and Balochistanattended his funeral at Jam Goth.
PPP is not the only party to have overlook pivotal aspects during thestrenuous process of awarding party tickets.
Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf granted party ticket to Nazia Raheel – apolitical figure who is a staunch worker of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz.
