Over 40 Taliban militants claimed dead in Afghan Airforce strike

KABUL – In Afghanistan, over 40 Taliban militants were killed in latestairstrikes conducted by Afghan Air Force within the past 24 hours.

According to the government spokesperson, in the eastern province ofGhazni, 16 Taliban militants were killed and five others wounded in twoseparate airstrikes.

In the neighboring province of Logar, two Taliban militants lost theirlives and one militants’ vehicle was destroyed following a sortie inKharwar district in the province.

About 15 Taliban militants were killed and five others wounded following anair raid on capital of northern Kunduz province.

In Uruzgan province, seven Taliban militants were killed and a Talibancommand and control center was destroyed by an airstrike on outskirts ofprovincial capital Tirin Kot city.

The Afghan forces and NATO-led coalition troops have increased ground andair offensives against militants in the past few months as spring andsummer known as the fighting season is drawing near in the country.
