Why distributors across Pakistan have refused and banned Indian film Raazi ?

ISLAMABAD – Raazi, a espionage film starring Indian actors Alia Bhatt andVicky Kaushal, will not hit the screens in Pakistan. Distributors haverefused purchasing the film to release it in Pakistan.

“It is disappointing to see that films on certain subjects are beingproduced in India time and again,” a senior distribution company officialssaid.

“All our distributors are well aware about Alia’s role in Raazi and so, noone is willing to purchase the film. Patriotism is another reason fordistributors not being pushed to buy the film. Indian producers should knowthat all our distributors have unanimously decided to boycott such films.”

Set in the 1970s, two close friends Brigadier Syed (Shishir Sharma) andHidayat Khan (Rajit Kapoor) decide to get their children, Sehmat (AliaBhatt) and Iqbal (Vicky Kaushal), married out of the family bond.

However, the familial ties culminating into marriage is just like thesurface of a river where the undercurrent is known once you take a dip.Here, Khan gets his daughter married and sends her off to Pakistan but thetruth is she is an undercover agent.

Co-produced by Vineet Jain and Karan Johar, the film is an adaptation ofHarinder Sikka’s novel, Calling Sehmat.
