The new government in Pakistan wishes to constructively and positivelyengage with the United States to promote shared goals of peace, securityand development in the region.
The Government of Pakistan, in a statement said that we look forward todeepening this important relationship on the principles of equality, mutualinterest and mutual benefit.
It said we have noted the comments made by the White House on assumption ofoffice by Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. It said we welcomeUS reaffirmation of long-standing ties with Pakistan.
