Federal Minister warns against rapid rise of Coronavirus in Pakistan

Federal Minister for planning Asad Umar on Monday warned that pressing onhospitals is increasing as coronavirus cases are increasing rapidly.

Asad Umar tweeted after a meeting of the National Command and OperationCenter (NCOC) today.

He tweeted that Administration has been asked to ramp up complianceenforcement to avoid a crisis-like situation.

“SOPs compliance remains very weak & pressure on hospitals is increasing,”he wrote.

Coronavirus in Pakistan

According to the latest updates, 4,584 new cases have been reported while58 patients have died in the last 24 hours.

The nationwide tally of cases reached 725,602 whereas the death tollreached 15,501 today.

Over 44,514 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours.

There are 269,126 coronavirus cases in Sindh, 250,459 in Punjab, 99,595 inKhyber Pakhtunkhwa, 66,380 in Islamabad, 20,321 in Balochistan, 14,594 inAzad Kashmir, and 5,127 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Apart from that, 6, 988 patients have died in Punjab, 4,530 in Sindh, 2,651in KP, 611 in Islamabad, 403 in Azad Kashmir, 215 in Balochistan, and 103in GB so far.
