RIYADH: Saudi Arabia government halts flights from Pakistan Aftercoronavirus was declared a “pandemic” by the World Health Organisation.
Saudi Arabia temporarily suspended travel of citizens and residents andhalted flights with several states including Pakistan, state news agency *SaudiPress Agency (SPA)* said on Thursday citing an official source at InteriorMinistry.
The decision includes the European Union, Switzerland, India, Pakistan, SriLanka, Philippines, Sudan, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Eritrea, Kenya, Djibouti,and Somalia, source added, saying the Kingdom also suspended entry to thosecoming from these countries.
Saudi Arabia also suspended passenger traffic through all land crossingswith Jordan , while commercial and cargo traffic is still allowed, and thepassage of exceptional humanitarian cases.
The decision excludes health workers in the Kingdom from Philippines andIndia, and evacuation, shipping and trade trips taking necessaryprecautions.
Saudi Arabia has so far 45 confirmed coronavirus cases, according to* Reuters.*
