Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has issueddirections to all concerned to gear up preparations in support of nationaleffort to counter coronavirus pandemic in case of any eventuality.
The army chief stated this while chairing Core Commanders Conference atGHQ, said ISPR in a press release.
The top military brass also discussed emerging situation with regards toCOVID-19 and preventive measures taken at Army level.

Pakistan has reported 21 cases, which surfaced in different citiesincluding Quetta. Most of the patients have returned from Iran.
On Wednesday, the World Health Organisation declared novel Coronavirus,which first started in China, as a pandemic.
WHO chief Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus had said, “In the past two weeks,the number of cases of COVID-19 outside China has increased 13-fold, andthe number of affected countries has tripled”.
There are now more than 118,000 cases in 114 countries, and 4,291 peoplehave lost their lives. Thousands more are fighting for their lives inhospitals.
The Core Commanders Conference also reviewed operational preparedness,situation along the Line of Control (LoC), geo strategic environment andnational & regional security situation with particular emphasis onAfghanistan Peace Process.
