BAGHDAD – Iran seeks good-neighborly relations and de-escalation oftensions with all neighboring countries, Iranian foreign minister said.
On the contrary to Saudi Arabia, Iran does not seek tension with anyneighboring country, including Riyadh, Mohammad Javad Zarif said in a pressconference held in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
Commenting on the US violation of the Iranian nuclear deal, known also asthe Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), he described the Washingtonmove as a dangerous phenomenon.
The official expressed the hope that other countries follow Iraq and theEuropean Union (EU) policy and stand against the US’ illegal sanctions.
Washington left the historic Iran Deal on May 8 giving 90- and 180-daywind-down periods to other countries before it starts re-imposing oilsanctions on Tehran on November 4. Despite the world’s criticism overWashington’s move, US President Donald Trump reinstated nuclear sanctionson Tehran and imposed as he claimed the “highest level” of economic bans onthe Islamic Republic of Iran. – IRNA
