Democrats and Republicans reached a deal

WASHINGTON – Democrats and Republicans have reached an agreement inprinciple over border security to fund the US government and avert anotherpartial shutdown at the end of the week.

Senior congressional aides told AFP the agreement included 1.375 billiondollar in funding for wall on the US-Mexico border.

It would also add technology upgrades for screening at border entry points,as well as more customs officers and humanitarian aid.

For several months, President Donald Trump demanded 5.7 billion dollar forhis desired border wall, while Democrats labeled the proposal as wastefuland ineffective and said they would only approve border security measureswithout any money for a wall.
