ISLAMABAD: TTP Commander Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud who had written TTP bookwhich claimed killing of the former Prime minister Benazir Bhutto at handsof TTP terrorists has been made as the deputy commander of the TTPterrorist group.
Noor Wali Mehsud is hiding in Afghanistan and was the senior commander inthe ranks and files of the TTP. He was made the Deputy Commander of TTPand the Commander of the Mehsud Tribe fighting alongside the TTP againstPakistan.
Earlier the deputy chief of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has beenkilled in a US drone strike, the militant group said in a statement Monday,as Washington continues to intensify attacks along the Afghan border region.
Khalid Mehsood alias Sajna, deputy leader of the TTP, died after thepre-dawn strike on February 8, the militants said in the emailed statement.
The terrorist group nominated Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud to take his place, thestatement added.
The statement comes as the US has massively stepped up its air offensive ineastern Afghanistan, targeting Taliban drug labs and Daesh hideouts asPresident Donald Trump looks to the sky to force the insurgents to thetable.
