SRINAGAR: Two heavily-armed militants were seen approaching towards a CRPFcamp on Monday in occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar. The soldiersstationed at the post opened fire following which the militants fled fromthe spot.
The militants were carrying bags and AK 47 guns. A search operation aroundthe camp has been initiated.
It is believed that the militants were planning to attack the CRPF camp.
Meanwhile, combing operations have been launched at terror-hit SunjwanArmyCamp in Jammu.
At least five soldiers and one civilian got killed while several others gotinjured in a gunbattle that went on for over 30 hours in Sunjwan Army camp.The forces also gunned down four militants after an intense encounter thatwent on for more than a day.
Authorities said that the gunbattle went on for so long as the Army wantedto avoid any collateral damage.
On Saturday, two JCOs got killed as the terrorists carried out an earlymorning attack at the Army camp. In retaliation, the forces killed threeterrorists on Saturday while another was killed on Sunday.
The militants carried out the attack by opening indiscriminate fire andlobbed grenades inside the Army camp. Later, they entered the JCO familyquarters where they opened indiscriminate fire.
After killing three militants on Saturday, the forces recovered AK-47rifles and other weapons from the militants.
The militants who attacked the Army camp were reportedly trained at thistraining camp and then sent to the Indian side of the border.
