A renowned Chinese expert on international affairs says a pro-US strategymay actually push India into an abyss.
In his article published in Global Times secretary-general of the ResearchCenter for China-South Asia Cooperation at Shanghai Institutes forInternational Studies Liu Zongyi, writes that India has almost completelybecome a petty follower of the US, and India’s strategic autonomy has beengreatly weakened. He writes that due to India’s pro-US gesture, therelationship between India and Russia has deteriorated and suffered greatdamage.
Liu Zongyi further writes that although the United States is cooperatingwith India in intelligence sharing and equipment in its border conflictwith China at Galwan Valley, there is no way the US will send its troopsto the border if an armed conflict really breaks out between China andIndia.
