ISLAMABAD – The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Sunday stronglycondemned the bomb attack which had targeted a mosque in Quetta on Fridayand resulted into a number of fatalities and serious injuries.

In a statement issued by the OIC Secretariat, OIC Secretary General, Dr.Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen expressed deep sorrow at the occurrence of theevent, the targeting of places of worship and the terrorizing of innocentpeople.

The secretary general also expressed his deep condolences and sympathy tothe government and people of Pakistan and to the relatives of the victimsalong with his best wishes for prompt recovery to the injured.

Al Othaimeen also renewed the OIC’s consistent rejection of all forms ofviolence and the shedding of innocent blood, irrespective of any excuses orjustifications.
