*ISLAMABAD - *Pakistan has demanded from Organization of Islamic Council (OIC) to play a significant role on the issue of Babri Mosque case.
According to the Spokesperson of Foreign Office Dr. Mohammad Faisal, Indian Supreme Court’s decision regarding Babri Masjid is illegal and has demanded from OIC to play a significant role on the issue.
According to spokesperson, it is illegal to give occupation of disputed holy place to Hindus.
“The decision of the Indian Supreme Court is unacceptable. It is not fair to substitute a mosque on the basis of religious biases. The Indian Supreme Court ruled on the basis of faith. Hindus killed around 2,000 Muslims while destructing the Babri Mosque,” he said.
Dr. Faisal also condemned the Indian Supreme Court’s decision to not sentence those who were involved in the heinous crime of destructing the mosque in 1992.
On November 9, India's Supreme Court awarded Hindus control of a disputed religious site in the town of Ayodhya for the construction of a temple, in a verdict announced amid heightened security across the country.
The top court ordered that the Muslims will be given five acres of land at an alternative site in Ayodhya, in northern Uttar Pradesh state.
While reading out the verdict, Justice Gogoi said the decision was taken on the basis of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
Babri Masjid was razed in 1992 by hardline Hindus who believe the site is the birthplace of Lord Ram.
