NEW DELHI: Anti-Terrorist Front of India (ATFI) threatened to dug up the pitch of Eden Gardens Kolkata cricket stadium if the Indo-Pak match was played there.
ATFI president Viresh Shandilya claimed that we will not allow the match at any cost as it is an insult of our soldiers who was martyred in Pathankot attacks.
He said “We will not allow Pakistan to play cricket anywhere in India at any cost. We threatened to dig up the pitch in HPCA stadium at Dharamshala; we will do the same at Kolkata.”
He claimed that we will protest against the match in Dharamshala and Kolkata including airport.
The T20 World Cup has started from March 8 at Himachal Pardesh’s Dharamsala cricket stadium.
Pakistan cricket team is facing security threat from different Hindu extremist organizations.
Himachal Pardesh Chief Minister Vibharda Singh denied to provide security to Pakistan team and suggested to cancel the match or shift the venue.
ICC shifted the venue from Dharamsala to Kolkata due to security concerns raised by Pakistan’s three member security delegation.
