KABUL - A key Taliban Commander on the UN sanctions list has been arrested in Afghanistan.
The deputy finance minister of the Taliban regime AbdulJalil Haqqani has been arrested by police forces, the Ministry of Interior said Monday, Khaama Press has reported.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Interior (MoI), Abdul Jalil Haqqani, the former deputy finance of Taliban was arrested from Spin Boldak district of Kandahar yesterday.
The statement further added that Haqqani’s name was included in the sanctions list of the United Nations as well as the Interpol list.
According to the Ministry of Interior, Haqqani was arrestedas he was attempting to cross the border with fake passport and travel to Pakistan.
