Temporary Displaced Persons Repatriation : Facts and Figures

ISLAMABAD (APP): As many as around 197,178 Temporarily Displaced Persons(TDPs) families have repatriated to their areas in Federally Administered Tribal Areas(FATA) so far, says Minister for States and Frontier Regions Lt. Gen. (Retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch.

In a written reply to National Assembly on Thursday the minister said one TDP family comprises of approximately six persons and they had been returned to Kyber agency, Kurram agency, Orakzai agency, South and North Waziristan agencies.

He says facilities are being provided to the registered TDPs returning to their area of origin and they are given transport grant of 10,000 per family through electronic transfers via SIMs.

Similarly, the government provides Return Cash Grant of Rs. 25,000 to each family and six months food security in areas of return by World Food Programme.

He said targeted Assistance of Tents on need basis was provided by UNHCR, adding. Other included Targeted Assistance of NFI Package on need basis) by UNHCR, targeted Assistance of Tool Kits on need basis by UNHCR, Livelihood Support Grants (LSG) ofRs 16,000 in four installments and Child Wellness Grants (CWG) of Rs. 7500 in three installments by World Bank.
