ISLAMABAD – Vice Chairman Overseas Pakistanis Commission, Chaudhary WaseemAkhtar, said that Pakistan is heading in the right direction under thevisionary leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
While addressing the media, Akhtar said that the incumbent government hasundertaken numerous initiatives to boost tourism in the country.
In this regard, Pakistan has finally decided to grant the facility ofvisa-on-arrival to 50 countries. Previously, visa-on-arrival was onlyissued to tourists from 25 countries.
Pakistan is blessed with scenic landscapes complemented by four kinds ofweather, enough to attract a large number of tourists. The beauty of GilgitBaltistan and Kashmir mesmerizes tourists, said Akhtar.
Issuing visas on arrival to tourists of 50 countries will boost tourismwhich could help the country on the economic front. The initiative willalso project a soft image of Pakistan on the global stage.
Chaudhary Waseem Akhtar commemorated the sacrifices and paid tribute to thesecurity forces for curbing terrorism in the country.
Other than that, earlier this year, the PTI government enforced a new visaregime under which the e-visa facility was approved for tourists of 175countries.
