PIA announces to launch another key international route direct flight

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is interested inoperating direct flights to Frankfurt, Germany.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the airline, Air Marshal Arshad Malik, made these remarks while chairing a meeting in Sialkot.

Arshad Malik said that operating passenger and cargo flights to theScandinavian countries like Norway and Sweden through Frankfurt, Germany, will not only boost the airline’s business but will also facilitate localexporters.——————————

He noted that restarting this route is, however, connected to PIA’s currentbusiness plan, which says that the airline is ‘interested’ in startingflights to Frankfurt, Guangzhou, and many other international destinationsthat were once part of PIA’s route network.

Contrary to the statement, there is no study or any pathway mentioned inPIA’s business plan to turn this dream into reality.——————————

During the meeting, the chief executive officer of the national flagcarrier also vowed to start direct flights between Sialkot to Madina nextyear.

Given the recent strides of the national carrier, one may hope that theairline will soon start operating direct flights on this much-anticipatedroute.
