In a surprise, Pakistan parliament rejects cancellation of Alcohol permit Bill

ISLAMABAD – In a surprise, Pakistan parliament has rejected the alcoholpermit cancellation bill.

As per the media report, the cancelation of alcohol permit bill has beenrejected in the National Assembly (NA).

The bill was presented by the government with support of MuttahidaMajlis-e-Amal (MMA) but bill was opposed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N) and Pakistan People Party (PPP).

Sources privy to development further added that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) leader and Member National Assembly (MNA) Ramesh Kumar, while seekingpermission for the presentation of bill to make amendment in article 37,said that since the alcohol is prohibited in all religions including Islam,Hinduism and Christianity so its permit must be abrogated.

According to details, national assembly deputy speaker had rejected thebill as the bill was opposed by majority of the house, however, MMA memberof NA staged protest over the rebuff of bill.
