WANA, November 11 — A high-intensity counterterrorism operation unfolded atWana Cadet College on Monday as security forces successfully cornered agroup of armed militants inside the premises. According to initial reports,the suspects were intercepted following an intelligence-led operation inthe volatile South Waziristan district, prompting a swift military response.
Security sources confirmed that the compound was immediately cordoned offafter the terrorists attempted to infiltrate the college grounds. A heavyexchange of gunfire ensued, with local authorities ensuring the evacuationand safety of students and faculty. Eyewitnesses described the situation astense, with troops using armored vehicles and aerial surveillance tocontain the threat.
Officials from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that theoperation was part of ongoing efforts to neutralize remaining terrornetworks in the region. “Our forces acted with precision andprofessionalism to prevent any civilian casualties and ensure that theattackers were isolated,” an ISPR spokesperson said.
