Islamabad, Pakistan, An explosion ripped through the entrance area of theG‑11 District Judicial Complex in Islamabad’s G-11 sector on Tuesdayafternoon, leaving at least eight people wounded, police officials said.The blast occurred as visitors and court-staff gathered in the early partof the working day, prompting rapid evacuation and emergency response.In the minutes following the explosion, rescue teams from Rescue 1122,local police and medics arrived at the scene and transported the injured tothe Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital.According to police, the initial investigations suggest the blastoriginated from a gas-cylinder or vehicle explosion near a parked caroutside the judicial complex, though they have not confirmed militantresponsibility.
Lawyers and court officials were seen being moved through the rear gate ofthe building as security personnel cordoned off the perimeter.
The attack occurs amid rising concerns regarding security in the capital’sjudicial and administrative zones. Federal Interior authorities swiftlycondemned the incident, calling it a grave threat to the rule of law andpromising full cooperation with anti-terrorism agencies. A spokespersonsaid: “Those responsible for this cowardly act will be brought to justice,”and emphasised enhanced patrols around court premises. Meanwhile, securityexperts noted that court complexes have increasingly become soft targets,vulnerable to both vehicle-borne and improvised explosive devices giventheir public nature and foot-traffic. Meanwhile, authorities reiterated that investigations are ongoing andwarned of possible additional evacuations as the forensic team examines theblast site.
