India beats Pakistan in ICC World T20 in a sensational thriller

ISLAMABAD – India defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in ICC World Twenty20.

It was second successive defeat for green shirts.

India chased the target of 135 runs in the last ball of 19th over. Thepenalty of 10 runs proved to be very costly.

India’s M Raj was declared player of the match for her 56 runs.

Earlier batting first, Pakistan posted their record highest total againstIndia in ICC World Cup T20. India had won the toss and elected to fieldfirst.

Being sent in to bat, Pakistan lost three quick wickets for just 30 runs inthe seventh over. However, Bismah Maroof and Nida Dar defied odds againststrong Indian bowling side and 94 runs for the fourth wicket.

After Maroof and Dar’s departure, India were able to restrain Pakistan to134 runs.
