Massive protests across Occupied Kashmir after Friday prayers, Indian troops use brute force

SRINAGAR – Massive protests were held across Occupied Kashmir after Fridayprayers in which Indian troops use brute force resulting into seriousinjuries to scores.

People of the occupied Kashmir held forceful demonstrations in differentareas on Friday to register their protest against the Indian occupation andrepeal of special status of the territory by India.

As the Jumma congregational prayers culminated, people took to the streetsin Srinagar, Badgam, Ganderbal, Islamabad, Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian,Bandipora, Baramulla, Kupwara and other areas of the occupied territory andraised high-pitched pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.

The protesters at several places were subjected to brute force by Indianpolice and troops. Many demonstrators sustained injuries in the brutalactions of forces’ personnel, according to Kashmir Media Service. Theauthorities did not allow people to offer Jumma prayers at Srinagar’shistoric Jamia Masjid and many other major mosques or shrines in theKashmir Valley for the 10th consecutive week since 5th August.

Vowing to continue their freedom struggle despite all odds, they thankedPakistani people and Prime Minister Imran Khan for supporting their justcause and expressing solidarity with them.

In Pakistan’s capital Islamabad, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference AzadJammu and Kashmir chapter held a protest demonstration outside the UNoffice against the continued lockdown and communications blockade imposedby India in occupied Kashmir. A memorandum addressed to the UN SecretaryGeneral was presented to the office.

Meanwhile, life remains badly hit the held region on siege on 68thconsecutive day of military lockdown as all shops, markets, businessestablishments and educational institutions remained closed and publictransport off the road.
