Former PM Nawaz Sharif becomes a poet inside the Kot Lakhpat jail

LAHORE – Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday said that he wouldnot compromise on the sanctity of vote.

Talking outside the accountability court after hearing of Chaudhry SugarMills case, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that if they areconspiring to jail those who gave sanctity to vote, then we are not afraid.

“This is not a case. These cases are being made against us to take politicaravange”, Nawaz Sharif asserted.

He further said, we would never compromise on rules.

“The sanctity of vote is linked to the country’s security, prosperity anddevelopment,” Nawaz Sharif contended.

Nawaz further stated that he was a victim of political ravange for chantingthe slogan “sanctity of vote”.

Nawaz Sharif said that he extended full support of his party forFazl-ur-Rehman’s Azadi march, maintaining that rejecting MaulanaFazl-ur-Rehman’s proposal to resign from the assemblies was a wrong move.

Nawaz Sharif also read a stanza from Akbar Allahabadi’s poem inconversation with the media which states that “it is better to die withgrace than to live with disgrace”.اکبر نے سنا ہے اہل غیر ت سے یہیجینا ذلت سے اگر ہے تو مرنا اچھا
