Petition filed in SHC in the aftermath of Usman Dar s arrest

In Karachi, the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Usman Darhas been contested in the Sindh High Court (SHC). According to thepetition, former SAPM Usman Dar was apprehended by unidentified individualsin plain clothes from Malir, Karachi.

Barrister Ali Tahir, representing Kamran, a close relative of Usman Dar,has submitted the petition in the high court. The petitioner has requestedthe court to issue a production order for the detained PTI leader.

The respondents in the petition include IG Sindh Police and others.Meanwhile, in Sialkot, Usman Dar’s residence, factory, and secretariat weresealed by the district administration, citing compliance with a court order.

Usman Dar had recently appeared before an anti-corruption team in Lahorefor an inquiry into corruption allegations. He and his brothers are accusedof receiving Rs5 million as a ‘commission’ from contractors in four UCswithin his constituency.

Dar, addressing the media, called for a transparent investigation into theallegations against him and his brothers, alleging that the case wasinitiated at the instigation of PML-N leader Khawaja Asif.
