ISLAMABAD – Over the issue of Justice Qazi Faiz Isa reference, Importantdevelopments have en reported from Supreme Judicial Council.
Presidential reference proceedings against Supreme Court Judge Qazi FaizIsa and Sindh High Court Judge Karim Khan Agha have been stopped in theSupreme Judicial Council, Express has reported.
Addressing a function in connection with the inauguration of the newjudicial year, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Asif Saeed Khosa termedthe proceedings of the Supreme Judicial Council a difficult task.
He said that the constitution gives the President the power to appoint areference in the Supreme Judicial council to a judge.
Should the Conduct Inquiry be directed, the Supreme Judicial Council cannotignore this type of constitutional directive, but a complaint against ajudge of the SC does not affect the opinion of the Supreme JudicialCouncil, the Council is independent and empowered in its proceedings.
