India officially responds over UN call on broken Afghanistan peace process

NEW DELHI – India officially responds over United Nations call on brokenAfghanistan peace process after Donald Trump called off the peace talkswith Taliban.

UN has called for direct talks between the Afghan government and Talibangroup to end the ongoing conflict.

Speaking during the quarterly debate on UN mission in Afghanistan at UNSecrutity Council, Mr. Akbaruddin further added “Hence outcomes havingconstitutional legitimacy and political mandate and which are arrived at inan inclusive and democratic way can ensure stability.”

He also added that the process of peace and reconciliation cannot goforward in an atmosphere of terror.

Meanwhile, Mr. Akbaruddin said the international community needs tocontinue its commitments made to the Afghan security forces in their fightagainst the scourge of terrorism.

The remarks by the Indian envoy came days after the U.S. President DonaldTrump called peace talks with Taliban group in Doha.
