KARACHI: Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi lands into yet anothertrouble over illegal appointment of former MD Pakistan State Oil.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has on Wednesday recommendedreference against former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N), Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, for “illegally appointing Shaikh Imran ulHaq as MD Pakistan State Oil (PSO)”.
In a press release, the NAB’s Karachi chapter recommended a referenceinvestigation against Abbasi over the PSO MD matter as it said he, in hiscapacity as the former minister of petroleum and natural resources,violated the government’s “rules and procedures” for the “appointments ofCEOs in Public Sector Enterprises”.

The anti-graft watchdog further stressed that its “investigation revealedthat Imran ul Haq was appointed as MD PSO due to having personalaffiliation with” Abbasi.
