Kulsoom Nawaz body taken to Regent Park Mosque London: Sources

*ISLAMABAD – Former first lady of Pakistan Kulsoom Nawaz passed away at theHarley Street Clinic, London, on Tuesday.*

Her son Hassan Nawaz confirmed the news. He said that her body will be sentto Lahore.

It was reported that she was shifted to the ventilator once again in themorning.

Her body was taken to Regent Park Mosque. Ishaq Dar, a close aide of NawazSharif, said that the day and time of Kulsoom Nawaz’s funeral will bedecided by her children.

Shehbaz Sharif will travel to London to bring the body back.

“The body will be brought back on Friday, which is when the funeral willalso be held,” said PML-N leader Mushahidullah Khan.

Rana Sanaullah, another PML-N leader, said that Kulsoom Nawaz will be laidto rest in Sharif’s hometown Raiwind.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed sorrow and grief over KulsoomNawaz’s demise, PTI’s Senator Faisal Javed said.

“She was a brave woman,” he said.

Mr Javed said that the PM has ordered the Pakistani High Commission inLondon to “provide the family all the necessary facilities and cooperation”.

“She was a courageous woman of great dignity and confronted her diseasewith fortitude,” Prime Minister Imran Khan said. “My condolences andprayers go to the Sharif family.”

Last year, Kulsoom Nawaz underwent medical check-ups in London, after whichdoctors diagnosed her with throat cancer. Her daughter Maryam Nawaz laterconfirmed on Twitter that her mother was diagnosed with lymphoma, thecancer of the lymph nodes.
