LAHORE – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi on Saturday hasdecided to resign.
He will resign after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan’s oathas Prime Minister of Pakistan.
According to sources, Sethi said that the decision to quit has been takento save Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Earlier, PTI had written to NAB requesting the anti-graft watchdog to openan investigation over alleged corruption against Sethi.
The letter stated that Najam Sethi was involved in corruption in PSL due towhich he wasn’t letting the PSL audit report to be made public. It furtheraccused PCB chief of failing to make PSL a successful event.
Sources privy to PTI told our correspondent that PM-in-waiting will notonly force Sethi to relinquish but would also initiate probe into mammothirregularities.
Sources added that Khan will also direct Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) totake probe of pending cases against Sethi to their logical end.
