*ISLAMABAD: *The interior minister on Wednesday dismissed the NationalAccountability Bureau’s (NAB) plea to issue red warrants against deposedpremier Nawaz Sharif’s sons Hassan and Hussain, Express News reported.
In light of the Avenfield reference verdict by the accountability court inIslamabad, the country’s anti-graft body approached the interior ministryto request for Interpol’s help in expediting Hassan and Hussain. However,the ministry rejected the request, claiming that it is incomplete.
The interior minister has also decided not to approach Interpol until alldocuments and evidence are in order. Both Hassan and Hussain were declaredproclaimed offenders in the Avenfield reference case as they failed toappear for any of the hearings despite repeated summons from the bureau andcourt.
On July 6, the court sentenced Nawaz to ten years imprisonment, handingseven to daughter Maryam Sharif and one year to son-in-law Capt (retd)Safdar.
