ISLAMABAD: Uzbekistan has expressed the desire to promote bilateral religious tourism with Pakistan by signing an agreement in this regard.
The desire was expressed by the Uzbek Ambassador to Pakistan, Furqat Siddiqov while talking to a news channel in Islamabad.
He said people of Uzbekistan want to visit historical, religious and tourist places in Pakistan.
Siddiqov said Pakistan and Uzbekistan enjoy friendly relations and both the countries have similar history.
Inviting Pakistanis to visit his country, he said Uzbekistan is the land of Tirmizi, Naqashbandi, Imam Bukhari, and other prominent religious scholars and historical places such as Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khewa.
