Sharif family case in Accountability case takes a new turn

ISLAMABAD: Khawaja Harris, Legal counsel of former prime minister NawazSharif on Monday withdrew from representing him in the corruption casefiled by NAB against Sharif family.

Earlier on Monday, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar haddirected the NAB court to announce its verdict on all three corruptionreferences against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his family withina month.

During the hearing, the chief justice rejected Nawaz’s former counselHaris’ petition for completing the trial in six weeks, observing that finalverdict against the former premier, his sons, daughter, and son-in-lawshould be announced within a month.

Haris, in a statement announcing his decision, said the Supreme Court had‘dictated on completing the trial within a month.’
