Islamabad: In a surprise development, ECP orders probe into RTS failure in2018 elections after a gap of two years.Election Commission of PakistanChairman Sikandar Sultan Raja in a major development has orderedinvestigation into failure of RTS system during 2018 general elections whenPTI came into power.
A team of National Database Registration Authority (Nadra), the creator ofthe system, briefed the ECP team about legal aspects of the matter.
Following the meeting, the head of the electoral body ordered probe todetermine the causes of its failure in order to determine the next courseof action.
RTS is an online system, which was used for the first time in thePakistan’s election history in 2018 to relay the results from all pollingstations across the country to the ECP heardquarters.
